    No spacer wedge i was trying to make it one without putting it in. Couldnt get it to sit flush.

    Great job! Iried to make scales ONCE.I have not the patience.One day I will probably try again when I have a lot of time.I know!!, Ill send SWMBO on a vacation.

    Well i think i improved with this one. Oak with a Gun Stock stain and then Varnished to seal. Has a oak Wedge. But i did notice a problem using a wood wedge. I spit when pinning. So i used some wood glue and clamped it in. The varnish will also hold it in place.

    I like the fact that you put in a wedge. It definitely is needed. As for the splitting a great man once told me to drill the spacer hole 1/64" over the size of the pin. This eliminated all of my splitting problems.

    Duh! I should of thought of that. I guess im just mediocre. Im still working on being great.
