Thanked: 13245Mappin & Webb custom in Honey Horn
This was one I could not wait to get on my bench, Ogershok sent me pics of it and I was all in...
We decided on Honey Ox Horn for the scales, I used an slightly modified TI point design for the wedge end... The horn was polished out to 12,000 grit then I used Ren-Wax to finish it off... The wedge is Faux Ivory with Brass liners, oh so much fun to use acrylic with Brass liners
All Brass hardware holds it all together...
The blade was bit of a challenge with the Lancet/Dreadnought style point, it was way to easy to catch that point on the buffing wheels and either break it off or toss the blade... After working the blade and looking at the way the stamp sits I began to think that this razor might have been re-ground sometime way back in it's life or perhaps this design was factory...
The spine was/is clean of hone marks so I have no clues there...
I can't wait to get this one on the hones tonight and try out the test shave

Now that is just gorgeous!
I love the clean lines, the classic look, the brass lined wedge and that lancet point. That really is a sweet looking piece! Great work Glen!
I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with it!

Another exceptional restoration, Glen! Your work never ceases to amaze me.
That blade looks gorgeous; the lines are great! The honey ox horn looks great in the photo, so I'm sure it looks even better in person.
Congratulations to the owner!

You Bastard!!!
You're enjoying this, aren't you, making me drool over this razor.
I've been wanting one for ages and I can't seem to acquire one. You'd think people have some consideration but noooooooo. Let's twist the knife by posting these nice pictures of a great blade in awesome scales....
I just might make you lead developer to get back at you.

The best part about that razor? IT'S MINE!!!!!! Wow, I'm totally stoked over this one. Glen, you have really done it this time. Major props to you. This has been a great shaver for me and now it's artwork too. This was a razor I got with a bunch of others at a local antique shop for $10 each. I posted about it here:
