I think that's a sweet looking blade. I love the full black, and I'm happy to see you didn't take it off. Nice work.

This is just a shot in the dark but I'm willing to bet that it was most likely British military issue - some of the Sheffield makers were contracted by the crown to provide razors to the the British military. (Of course, that doesn't mean the USA or CSA govts couldn't have contracted sheffield makers as well...).

"This is just a shot in the dark but I'm willing to bet that it was most likely British military issue" You may well be right about it being British military issue, but I can still fuel my imaginings with the idea that much of the CSA gear was purchased from England. Still wherever this razor roamed, if it could talk I bet it could tell an interesting tale.
I have had my first shave with this razor and it is quit hefty and thick across the spine about the same as a "For Barber's use W&B" but longer. The shave was a good wedge shave.
