FWE Special
Removed the old crappy scales and the silver inlays to redo the blade. I think I'm going to get some black acrylic scales for this blade but I'm not sure if it's ready yet. The pictures make it look pretty good but there is some very minor scratching on the blade. Is this common or do most of you go for perfect mirror?
I'm considering going back to sandpaper, what do you all think?
Also, I had to use the napkin in pic 1 because for some reason my camera wouldn't focus without it... who knows.

Thanked: 993Looks great. How far you want to take the blade is up to you. I have some that still have patina, and a bit of character. Others I have polished to as mirror as I can get them by hand.
I also tend to use a technique when sanding recommended by Glen (gssixgun). On your second pass of 600 grit and up, lubricate with WD40. It gives a nice soft glow to your finish, as opposed to one that is completely mirror.
It's your razor, and your cheeks.
