Default Joseph Rodgers wedge in two tone Amboyna

It has been a little while since I posted a razor restore. I picked up this Joseph Rodgers & Son a while ago and finally got to working on it. The blade was rusty with some pitting but these old wedges restore nicely. This is a true wedge, 7/8 spike. The tang is stamped Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers to their majesty No6 Norfolk street Sheffield.

It got a run on the greesless compounds then hand sanded then buffed on several compounds to get a near mirror finish on the blade. The scales are two tone Amboyna burl with a TI style cut then finished in a high gloss epoxy resin. Pins are 1/16 brass rod with a single brass washer and brass thrust bearings with an East Indian Rosewood wedge.

I honed it up through 30,000 grit to a wicked sharp edge. Nice shaving razor but I have never seen a Joseph Rodgers that was not.

Beautiful scales on a very cool blade. That would be a nice one to shave with.

It is a very nice shaving razor. I have a couple others in my collection. I am turning a matching Amboyna burl brush for it this morning.
