    I think it was four times that I sanded them up to 0000 steel wool and then buffed with white compound, only to rough sand them again. I couldn't make up my mind if they should be shiny or not. The finish I ended up with reminds me of aged horn.
    If anyone has suggestions on finishing micarta, I am certainly open to feedback. As mentioned, this was my first time working with it.

    That blade looks so pretty open, and closed I see you matched the spine contour to the scales very good. Nice attention to details.

    Great job, Eric! That really does look great... be careful, though, because aside from getting you stuck under the Dingleberry Tree, restoration is an addictive sport!

    I was sanding some horn the other day with a very prominent grain & it reminded me of G10 or Micarta

    Very nicely done Eric and great attention to details! I do like rounded scales best with most materials and it looks like you did this one very nicely.
