Gemsbok Silver Tip redone
So I took notes and followed instruction..... Just a nip and a tuck and voila. I had a stub tail blade sitting on the shelf that I finally put to use (but I did not put in much time restoring it). The scales, although they may not look it, are the same width the whole way down. It was fun experimenting with this one and getting a lot of you involved. Loved the comments. So here is the result....
Be back next week with a few nice ones.

Much nicer! I felt that the way you constructed it lent itself to the original design. You have brought it to a finer place! I still, if you don't mind, would like to see the pivot end more slim. I see you found the ancient blade! Boy, am I in for it......

That is a very nice way to put the costume upon an ancient blade. The style and shape of the scales is period ~1790 and high class as would have been coveted by the Toffs and Nobs.
Thanks for raising the bar!

I like the second version better because of the straight spine.
I have also enjoyed the comments because it made me look at it from a different perspective.

Thanked: 3795Yup, that looks much more age appropriate. I look forward to seeing the new home you make for the very nice blade that you removed.

Thanked: 993That is quite an improvement. The stub tail looks fantastic, and all of the lines are appropriate and classy. I feel like the person who uses is should refrain from using running water, and simply call down to the kitchen/chambermaid for a basin of hot water.

I saw this razor in a vision! Now if only the good Lord would bring it to me!
It looks fantastic! Great job!It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
