Default Hepburn & Prince in Black Walnut

I just finished this one. It's a Hepburn & Prince blade buffed out and dressed in black walnut with brass hardware.

I had a lot of fun working on this one. The pivot hole was way oversized, so I ended up double sleeving it. It was my first attempt at sleeving a pivot and I think it turned out well. The blade fits really tight.
It also took some sizing to get the width of the wedge just right. As you can tell the scales are narrow in relation to the blade, so I ended up sanding the wedge a bit at a time to get the blade to stop where I wanted it to, and not have the edge sticking out the bottom of the scales.

I finished the black walnut with tung oil, and as the pics show, I ended up with some scratches in them after they were finished.

    Two things.

    1. Great looking razor. I love the wood scales, and the brass hardware is very classy.
    2. IIRC, you were playing around with your photography a while ago, and these pics are also really well done.

    Nice job HNSB!

I like the shape of those scales they match the blade (a super cool blade). I think you nailed the thickness of the wedge. The razor looks like it should when the balde is closed.

That is a super-cool awesome looking old razor. Very old. Great job on preserving the blade and turning it all in a very time oriented look and style.

Super nice! I appreciate your posting it. Very well done and a fitting tribute to an obviously rare blade! Kudos
