Mate , will ya need therapy if I tell you it walked on Sunday ? hehehe. Don't panic there's still a few jobs on the bench I'm tempted to keep the DD Dwarf.
Thanx. As it was not a customer's job, I didn't think to time it. I did it in bursts over a week but there were a few challenges like an asymmetric tang & using unfamiliar abrasives that stretched the time out more than usual.
Thanx G, I here them Dingleberries are mighty fineThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

You can use vinegar baths or other dilute acids but I would practice a lot on scrap steel first as pitting is a very real risk.
A safer way is to use cold gun blueing cream or liquid which can be toned to a grey colour with metal polish.
This is the colour you can achieve with cold blueing. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
