A friend of a friend's father's Birthday....GENCO restore Paua Shell scales
For a 68 year old father's birthday. I bought the Genco razor today at a Swap Meet sale. It had light rusting and nice but plain bakelite scales originally.
He wanted something elegant, yet relatively priced.
Blade - Genco 5/8 , belled hollow ground
Wedge - Blue G10
Pins - Sterling Silver
Scales - Blue Paua Shell

This is my first with acrylic, my first 3 razor scales were all G10. I found the AVS to be much easier to shape and buffs out super glossy.

Nice ! I'm sure he'll like that.

Love to see the Gencos in nice scales. The shave's the same, but she just went from librarian to playboy bunny!

Came out very nice. You ought to be proud wrapping that one up.
You noted sterling silver pins. Is that sterling rod, with sterling collars, or some other sort of combo?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction DC. The pins are sterling silver, not rod and washers style though.
