That's because it's a hidden razor and brush holder.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

    That is fine work!
Very old school and very classy!
Belongs in a proper british aristocrat's budoar!

    Default british aristocrat's budoar!

    Thanks a lot.
I am a big fan of the classic budoar look. I actually have my "Man Den - AKA bathroom" done that way a bit. very classic color tons and Italian natural stone tile ect... its not perfect but it does the trick.

Anyone want to give some ideas on the color stain I should go with, or no stain at all and just poly or epoxy.
    Thanks in advance.

Very nice! Even an old paint brush paired with a Mach 3 would look great in that setting!

I would suggest giving it patina more than anything else. A grayish faded color, or something like that, just to make it fit in to the image of representing those times past.

    Default Updated Photos

I cant take any good pictures right now, but here are a few pics so you can all preview my progress.

I got my hands on some felt to go inside the base of the cut out so that the razor/brush not resting on a hard surface. "not yet photoed"

I ended up not cutting out a hole to lift out the razor because I learned that I can just push on the tail end of the razor and it lifts up. But I am working that into any new designs I work on.
