    Default Another Crown and Sword

It's been a while since I last contributed here, but if all goes according to plan there should be a few rescales to post over the next few weeks: here's the first.

C.F. Ern Crown and Sword rescaled in American black walnut with red vulcanised fibre liners and outsized Corian wedge.

I went for quite a bulky look with this blade, frankly because it needed a fair bit of heft to balance acceptably. Still not sure about that wedge, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. It's comfortable to shave with, but the noticeable thing was how easy it is to strop - just what I did right there I'm not entirely sure ... Although there was a slight frown to get rid of honing was a pleasure as usual with Ern blades - I truly do love this steel. The razor now has an excellent home in sunny Scotland.

Nice razor! I really dig the red liners and the contrast of the white wedge! The shape of the ends is quite complementary as well!

Beautiful wood and I love those hard yet soft angles in the scales.

Thank you very much for your kind comments gentlemen. As usual, the "design" just happened as the job went along; I'm happy with how the liners look, and of course they take a lot of the stress out of pinning this fragile timber.
