Steampunk King Cutter straight razor scales
I finished my 2nd set of scales today! I'm a steampunk fan and wanted to make a some scales that would have that theme. Unfortunately the gold washed "King Cutter" logo was smeared and needed to be erased from the blade so I wanted to have the logo somewhere on the scales to compensate.
The scales are lacewood with copper inset into each side. I etched the King Cutter logo into the copper on one side and the Tree Brand logo (along with a barber pole and the German Weimar eagle from the 1800's) into the other.
The spacer is paduak sandwiched between to pieces of copper.
I'm still having trouble with pins but used a "0" stainless followed by a smaller brass washer.
The blade is not centered perfectly. Maybe the steel is warped...not sure, but it closes just fine without touching.

Very cool, I have been thinking about etching copper and making scales. You beat me to it. I like the look and styling of your scales.

The etching as a focal point works well with the reset of the razor. The copper and red are a nice color combo.Great Look.
