Cool Having some fun--- Vintage Restores

My friend Alan sent a few razors out to me to mess with when I had time, we haven't quite decided what we're doing with them yet

Got off work last night and was playing around with this Case Preparedness razor this is a Bradford PA Case XX
Here are the before pics as I tore it down on the bench, I think this was a drawer baby, as there is hardly any hone wear.. Looks like the edge just deteriorated from being put away wet

I polished out the blade, but could only take it so far because of the hollow grind, still got out most of the pitting, but there is just some minor stuff left now...
Cleaned and polished the scales but left the Case imprint still on there, after I got the scales back to looking the way I wanted, I darkened the lettering, then very carefully used 2000 grit Wet-r-Dry to clean it up...
Put the razor back together using the smaller SS washers and Nickel Silver pins...

I honed it up last night using a Chosera 1k to re-set the bevel, then switched to a PHIG using the "One Stone/Hone Method"... I actually did a Vid, and as soon as I edit it, I will have it up on my Youtube channel... I think you guys will be rather surprised at how fast that system works even with the "slow" Chinese stone... The shave with it this morning was a DFS

Love it, and love to see that american steel being made to shine again.

    Lookin' good.

Now I'm looking forward to the vid too. Chosera to PHIG....hmmmm sounds like an experiment for the Toronto and Area Meet this weekend.

    Thumbs up

    Glen,
I always enjoy your chronicles on the transformation of a razor from "meh" to "Oh Wowwww" status . Great job (as always) .

Yup, that's keepin' it real bro

As for the honing , c'mon admit it you used diamond spray on the PHIG
