Thanked: 993W&B "Special" in Purpleheart
This is one of mine, that needed a bit more special attention. Back at the cottage, I was able to pull it apart and get in the shop for a bit.
Hand sanded to 2500, and buffed with red rouge and fabulustre.
For the scales, I tried the heat gun as suggested by our very own gssixgun. Many thanks G. It was way easier to control the outcome....although I found that once the wood starts to turn colour....it goes quick! Put a tung oil finish on it, and then buffed with a bees/orange wax compound.
Finshed off with Nickel silver rod and brass washers. I am exited for this to return to my rotation.
