Thanked: 9932 in Bubinga, Imperial and Walter
These two just got pinned this morning. It's been a successful weekend in the man cave.
This was my first hand at Bubinga, and I have found that I really love the look of this wood. The grain is spectacular when it's finished. It has a wonderful depth to it. I have another set of Bubinga scales ready to go, but I'm trying a CA finish on them (also my first attempt at CA....more on that at another date).
Here's and Imperial "Eagle", and a Walter Rob. Both are hand sanded and buffed as per my normal routine. Set for honing and insertion into my rotation this week. Wedges are guitar picks, and the finish is Tung Oil. For my own rotation, I've taken to using pins in the toes and microfasteners in the pivot. I kinda like it.
Thanks for looking

Scales work is SO clean. I'm taken by the metal work also. Beautiful polish while keeping all the crisp detail on the etching & stamping. 'Just beautiful.

Nice work Maxi. I like the eagle. it was a popular etch with a few makers.

Nice work! What's not to like with a pic of great looking razors mixed with Habano's.

Thanked: 13249Very well executed
The steel work just pops, looks like a ton of elbow grease went into them...
The Bubinga really shows it's spectacular grain when you use Tung Oil that was a good choice...
Your pinning on the wedge ends looks tight and very well done too..

Beautiful work Maxi, great choice of timbers for the scales. Your polishing work on the blades is impeccable, really nice. I also like the use of the picks for the wedges, very creative.
