Superb job. The razor has a whole new long life! The bluing, if that is how it was done, really stands out nicely on the tang.

Thanx Stu, unfortunately like a few of us here, I often suffer from "before pics dementia"
Thanx Grant. Dunno if it's technically bluing or patina but I used an oxalic acid dip like on this one:

Thanx Glen, I timed the acid dip just right on this one so pretty pleased with the tang.
Must admit I noticed your washer stacks before hehehe. I just had to steal that look
Thanx again for all comments gents.Last edited by onimaru55; 07-06-2011 at 02:10 AM.

Wonderful restraint. All is bright and shinny where it should be. Where beautifully flat black, just makes the rest of it look that much more vibrant. Nice.

I love what you've done with this one Oz ...What do you mean not quite restored? She looks perfect enough to me .
BTW: How do you re-blacken the tang (acid dip or something)? Also, do you think that painting the writing on the scales will be worthwhile or too much of a PITA?

Thanx Robert . Yep oxalic acid dip. I would have done the scale's logo if it was deep enough to hold the paint but I think its too worn.

Damn that's good! The lettering certainly looks deep enough to have taken that gold finish. No point though, its sweet as it is.
