Max Voos "FLIC" in Turkish Walnut
Well, Glen and I must have been channeling the same muse when Travis sent us our blocks of Turkish Walnut and asked for "Classy Scales." I finished this one yesterday and spent most of last night fighting with my light box...
Scales are a simple design, flat panels to let the wood really speak for itself. Used my special Tung Oil blend to rub these until they shine like a French lacquer. Brass pins, and a brass-lined faux tortoiseshell wedge...

Whoa! That is amazing work and I can't believe how well that brass liner turned out. I still can't get over how well that wood looks when it's finished.

Very pretty timber & the scales complement the square point perfectly.
