Gorgeous job on the razor and scales. I've been considering making a set out of camel bone. Is it a good media for scales now that you have worked with it?

That is a nice one! That Camel bone is interesting. Most I see, the scales are thicker. Would it be strong enough to make some thin ones as in old Ivory? I surely has a nice glow to it. That is indeed big for a Clauss! Good work!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Any type of bone is stinky stuff to work with. Be sure to wear a breathing mask. I also wore a hat. I don't have a thickness measurement of the scales on this razor but I don't think I would make them any thinner unless I went with a flat wedge/spacer. The bone polishes up nice but it is brittle.

    Lovely work Joe!

Completely agree about bone being smelly to work with, definitely not my favourite smell.

But when the result is as pretty as this it's hard to say no to it!
