Default Big Clauss in Camel Bone

Here is a 7/8's US steel Clauss for your viewing pleasure rescaled in polished camel bone. I restored this one a while ago but couldn't find the time to get the pics taken. The blade was badly rusted and some of the pits were too deep to remove from this hollow ground blade as you will see in the pictures. It still shaves GREAT!!

The pins are nickel silver, washers stainless steel and wedge black and white marbled acrylic.

Nice work of course Joe, but also a rare razor not to many of the Big American Steel razors to be found out there.. Great job saving history there

Nice work on the scales! I like how clean and bright camel bone looks. I've been working with camel bone myself lately. I also have a few vintage Clauss blades waiting to be scaled.

Is it me, or does it seem like "Clauss" blades have a slightly different type of steel. They seem lighter in weight and even the sound they make is different, kind of like a higher pitch "tingggggg".

    Maybe it's just me.

I find my Clauss razors to be a bit different also. My first Clauss took such a fine edge I really had to be careful shaving with it until my shaving skills improved enough to appreciate the fine edge it took. I always look forward to when the Clauss razors make it to the top of the rotation.

Big antique show yesterday. 'Some nice finds & prices were better than the last show. About the time I'm finished looking, the Mrs & I met at the prescribed place, and she hands me a razor - it was a Clauss. I've never tried one and can't wait. It helps to hear about the steel being different. 'Should be a great performer. Thank you. And Joed, that's lovely work. 'Big grats.

Really nice. Wish you guys would stop with the attributes of so many different razors. Now I have another to add to my wish list (like it isn't long enough now,) Great job on this one. I really like it.
