Default Le Grelot ~ Royal Canada

This one was a blade only restore so did very little to the scales.
The macro shots show the micropits that remain so have to use your imagination for 'before' pics

Fiddly job sanding around masked gold wash but it survived pretty well & I blued the jimps for a bit of contrast. Such nice hard steel. Long time honing but look forward to the shave test.

Looks like lots of tedious time spent on the detail work. Time well spent, since it came out very pretty.

The 'Royal Canada' makes me smile. Looks like Hawaiian style font, gives me a feel of tropics. But then read Canada, and slapped in the face with the idea of snowy winters, haha

Thanx Stu. Blueing is simple. Degrease & add electrical tape to tang sides to prevent overrun. Apply gun blue or preferred acid to jimps. Rinse with soapy water when desired colour is achieved. Done

Great resor Oz man. I can imagine what a PITA it must have been working around that gold wash, but worth every minute. Looks sweet.

    My dear Oz:

You amaze me with the quality of your work. I have seen several examples of it and each competes with the other for the top spot. I must, therefore, conclude that all deserve the top spot. Well done.

    Regards,

    Obie
