For example, a 1/8" X 3" X 24" piece of gaboon ebony is $30. Expensive, yes, but that should easily be enough material for 4 full sets of scales. I will call them to see if they might be able to produce the blackwood in thin stock which would presumably be less expensive than the gaboon. Thanks again for the link.
