Steampunk + Paduak scaled Joseph Rodgers straight razor
I've been toying with different steampunk themed scales and thought I'd try my hand at using the scroll saw to cut away the middle section of wood and insetting some gears with a resin window.
I used some thin copper as a liner and then glued each gear in place before pouring the resin.
The spacer is a green smokey acrylic.
I love Joseph Rodgers & Sons blades and I've been hungry to get scales on their "Master Razor no2" Now I've only to get it on the stones and test it out!

I really like those scales. The window idea is very creative. Overall it is a gorgeous razor.

do the scales match up on both sides? I see a cross 'beam' around the midpoint, is that on both sides... how thin are they, it looks like a tough build. nice work.

Tum, I just love that steam themed stuff you do. It is very cool that you hang on to that theme too, your razors are unique in that way, and I think it is great. Very attractive and a real eyecatching thing to do to a razor.

Those scales are awesome. Sure wish I had had more time in NC to visit . It would have been nice to see your shop and watch you work
