Default C.V Heljestrand scales and polish

    Hello!

Just finished my project for the weekend.
Its a Heljestrand MK32 bought in pretty bad shape, both blade and scales.
No before-pics though, i tend to get a little excited and always forgets that part, sry.
Anyhow, scales in black acrylic, with brass inlays. It needs the inlays since the acrylics apperance is very "dead" on its own.
Its the first knife in pipeline for me. Im gathering razors for a 7-day set but the MK32:s a quite rare, even here in sweden, so ive only managed to aquire 3 thus far. Wish me luck!

I really like the brass rod inlay! Are they basically just washerless peened brass rod? Great idea - haven't seen anything like it before. I'm working on a 7 day E A Berg - got 2 so far.

Those scales are gorgeous. Great job. Are the others going to get the same treatment?

Nice job & no need for a 7 day set. 3 is plenty. With good Swedish steel you only need shave every 2nd day

thank you! Yes, basically, but i haven't peened them. I took a file and scorched them in the middle( they are cut from a longer rod of course, scorched beforce cutting) and then used epoxy. That was the second step, i cut them to a rough shape before to be able to sand the brass and acrylic in one step.

E A Berg you say? Hard to come bye in the us? you should try tradera.se. Berg are one of the most common brands there. Good luck with the kit!
@Whavens - Yes i think so. But im going to try smaller rods and do something more intricate.
