Custom 8/8 Cherry Burl~ Mother of Pearl
Hey Guys,
Here is a custom I recently finished up. No scales blade in O1 steel. Overlaid and pinned the handle in Mother of Pearl and some Cherry Burl. Pinned the Burl with stainless and the MP with brass. Satin finish 2.0 oz. You will notice in the photos my little "engraving" on one side. My idea was a double image an eagle wing with the head to the side and a war chief on the other. Not sure if I captured it exactly but it was my first so I guess you have to start somewhere. Anyway, after several sketches on paper, I took the plunge and just drew it on the steel. Used a diamond tip dremel and micro files. I think an actual engraver would have been a better choice but I don’t have one. Even if I did, not sure it would have been any better. LOL
Well, I shaved with it last night and loved it, smooth and comfortable. I think I have been missing out a little on these no handle straights. Fun to switch it up now and again.
Have a great weekend!
Best Regards, Kenny

Very stylish Ken. I love how you finished the handle and made it all look flush.

Another beauty and you make them so light in weight. Your razors shave like a dream Ken.

That is one awesome razor, Kenny. I really like the blade profile and the way it all sort of ties together. Do you have a closer-up shot of the eagle? From that angle it looks pretty cool.
