Great Granddad's Germania
This is my great grandfather's razor that was given to me by my mother. Just finished up the restore on it the other day. Here is the link to the heirloom thread that I posted it on: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...tml#post896940
5/8 Germania Cutlery Oxford Razor
Full hollow
Butterscotch swirl celluloid scales (not original but used from another razor from same period)

That's some nice work you did there. And you have a functional heirloom to boot. Congrats.

curious, how hard would you say that razor was, compared to others?

AxelH,
Not sure what you mean. How difficult was it to restore? Not too laborious as there was no rust at all, just years of staining and patina. Since the scales were replacements all that was needed there was a quick polishing to get them to shine before I pinned them to the razor.

Sorry, I meant how hard was it. [smacks forehead] Did you re-hone it, if so can you give us in general terms how hard you estimate it was?
