Default Custom 8/8 Crab Apple Burl Double Shoulder

    Hello Everyone,

Here is a custom razor that I just finished up for one of our members. Shooting for something refined and perhaps a little old school. Scales are aged Crab Apple Burl. I had this burl for years and just got around to making some cuts. Needless to say, I was so very pleased with its figure. Very hard and very stable even in thin sections. Added some brass tail insert accents and made the front stainless/brass combo mosaic pin. Steel is O1 with my version of a modest patina. Grind is classic double shoulder with a hollow greater than 1/4 but short of 1/2.

    Have a good weekend!

    Best Begards Ken

That burl is a work of art standing alone! Amazing work Ken as are all of your razors. Wow!

Gorgeous!!! I want some of that wood, WOW!

I like the brass accents in the monkey tail.

You have to tell me how you made the mosaic pin. I'm jealous.

May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

that is splendid. the design is just my style (though I'm not a fan of the tang but that's a personal thing. it's still pretty awesome). is that a hex fastener in the pivot?

Very Nice Ken! Good clean work. I like the three pin inserts in the tail. That adds a nice touch of detail.

    Crabapple huh?
That piece has some ridiculous grain in it !
It's a truly gorgeous cut from that burl.
The blade is excellent as well. I kinda like the traditional stabilizers like that.
    Nice!

Simply stunning, sir! I don't know where to begin. That's quite possibly the razor of my dreams since I have no recall of dreams upon awaking.
