7/8 Joseph Rodgers & Sons
This razor was in a bit of a bad way. It had quit a bit of rusting and some pitting and the scales were warped pretty bad. I took it apart and tried to work on the scales with some help from the wiki but just could not get them to straighten out enough to use so I made these out of curly maple and used dye and a tung oil finish. I used brass washers for pins and blade and nickle silver pins. My peening needs a little work but I really love this razor and find these big wedges cut whiskers like I cant believe.Glenn C

Beautiful. The timber has come up really well, and the blade looks great.
Any before pics?
Well done.

I should have taken before pics but alas I did not. This is the razor that I hand sanded and find that I just dont enjoy it enough to ever want to do it again. Im a bit more into power tools so I will be looking to get set up with a buffer and some greasless compounds to start doing work on blades. I did make a sanding stick to use but still want no more of it. Thanks for the nice comment!

I don't think a power tool would improve that job. Mabey a little buffer! Don't give up on your hand skills! You have good ones. It takes time, but yields fine results, like this! Power tools are frustrating as well! You can screw one up quick, where as by hand, you won't! Nice scales!

"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
