I might have to steal your scale design though and use it in the future, it has a regal look to it.

That razor stand is pretty nice too, did you make or purchases it somewhere?
Thanks for the compliment, feel free to use this design any time, I just came up with it sketching for another W&B and decided to keep the design in CorelDraw 15 in case I wanted to use it again. CorelDraw allows you to shrink and stretch the design so I can make the scales fit anything once I have scanned it in.
I made the razor stand just putzing around in the wood shop one day. It's cherry wood.

those wedges are the devil to hone!!
You aren't kidding, It took for ever to sharpen this one and I have 2 more wedges (not W&B) that I am working on now in my spare time.
I have a few more pieces of this burl if you want a set for another straight.

Buckeye burl with poly I'm defo gonna research up on that.
Is poly easy to use? As this'll open a lot of use of wood for me instead of paxolin, g10 mircarta etc.
After a lot of non straight knives I have made, I had a few wood handles shrink or suffer with moisture, even after full garuntee (verbally) off the vendor. So I strafed away to mircarta CF etc.
So now you've given me the encourement To go back to my beloved wood scales.
    Thank you

It's easy as long as you have rubber gloves.
If you get it on you it is hard to get off.
Just keep the wood submerged in the poly for at least a few minutes on the first soak, after it dries fully and you sand it the second soak doesn't require that long.
