Well just finished the first restore just have to do the final touches to become shave ready. I must say the hardest part for me was trying to fit in the wedge any tips on doing it? I cut a length slightly wider and about 6 inch long and angled it as i hand sanded it flipped it over sanded and made the cut at the end matching up with the thickness of the blade where i want it to stop used digital calipers. I did an ok job i think i cant wait to get my belt sander haha.Overall its unbelievable how much you can do by hand but its a lot of work.

Hand sanding wedges is a pain, it's my least favorite part of making scales. One suggestion though, you could make the pivot side of the scales thinner. The large square shape will make stropping difficult. Not to mention shaving with it will probably feel clumsy.

i didnt think of the stropping good idea thou. i test fit the shape with some card and it felt beefy but stable so i thought id give it a shot do something different.

that is amazing work on your part. I am very envious of all you guys who do restores. I feel like I could never get those results. I am going to attempt my 2 restore soon. this one will be a full restore. I only hope it comes out as good as the ones i see by everyone on here
