Default Boker 5/8 Round Point w/ Custom Birdseye Maple Scales

    Hey Guys,
This is my first post in the Restoration Forum and my third set of scales. First wanted to say thanks to Glen (gssixgun) for all of his posts on restoration and scale making. Throughout this restoration, I felt like I was following a recipe.

I got this Boker from eBay for under $20, it had minimal pitting, needed to be honed and had cracked acrylic scales. After unpinning, I sanded the blade up to 3000grit, used some JB Weld to refill the pivot hole and decided I would make some scales.

The scales are Birdseye Maple with an orange micarta paper spacer. Finishing the scales was done with 9 coats of CA and sanded from 600 grit to 1500 grit, cut with some rubbing compound and finished with some Johnson's wax. I used hex screw pins (I plan to change them once i get better at peening).

    Hope you all like it,
    Phil
