Thanked: 0New scales for old Crown and Sword...First Attempt
Here is a set of lacewood scales that I made for a Crown and Sword that I picked up at a flee market. I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt. Now to figure out pinning....

Very nice job. I am about to attempt my first try at scales also. I'll see how it goes.

Thanked: 3226Nice looking scales and don't worry pinning is not that difficult. There is a good how to in the shave wiki here in case you haven't seen it yet.

Thanked: 2027They look wonderfull, might double stick tape them together before you drill for the pins.
Makes things much easier to drill both blanks as one before they are contoured.
Am certain all will turn out great.

Thanked: 3I just pinned my first set and it wasnt as easy as i thought to make it perfect. Also the heavy hardwood scales I made seem to throw off the balance of the razor, wish I would have sanded them down to about 1/16-1/8 thin.

Nice looking scales, out of all the vintage razors i restore, i find the Crown & Sword scales the most brttle and the most difficult to remove without breaking.
