Thanked: 14two quick things... Thanks for the excellent before and after pics; seeing the material before a restore really provides richer context. Secondly, as mentioned above, has the barber you got it from seen the restore work yet? If so, what did he say? Beautiful work...

Ha, well if I was going to "barrow" a W&B from your medicine cabinet I would have grabbed your 9/8 as well . You really set the bar high for your next restore with these scales. I may give you a break so you can catch up on some of your own razors... lol, thanks again bud.

Well it is about that sharp, but your right that would take all the fun out of it! This is my first "large" razor I must admit I was a little intimated at first. But I find that it is actually much easier to keep that 30 degree angle and much more enjoyable to strop. The only problem I see is that I have lost the desire to use my other 10 razors...

Thank you. I am happy the pictures turned out as well as they did, but always room for improvement I don't feel they do the razor justice IMO. M3 is such a rich material and the ivory has a nice checkerboard pattern I could not capture.
I still haven't made it to see the barber, as his shop is 2 hrs. away from my home. My cousin who made the scales actually found the razor at a "new" barber he was trying out. The barber who has been cutting hair for 50 years turned out even better than expected!
