I immediately thought that the wedge seems to mirror the spine work!
Excellent work, Grant. A huge improvement. You have come far with your skills.
I can't make scales. I admire those that can!

Very well done. I like the lines and feel of the first set of scales. The second set is beautiful.

I'm pretty sure it was this Aluminium Oxide stone that I used (It was actually nearly 3 years ago that I did the spine).
The spine was SO badly rusted that I had nothing to loose with getting a little creative with it.
The notches were almost a rust removal method as much as decorative.
