I hope I understand your question propertly - I used small and then larger(#00 I think) washers one on top of each other. They were bought in 100 quantities from Microfasteners and, even though it took a couple of weeks to ship to the UK it's well worth the wait as the quality is consistent. The problem in the UK is getting decent quality 3/16 nickel rod - some is very soft and bends too easily and some (like on this) is quite hard and does not polish up very well.
