It was in pretty decent shape to begin with so I really just dry sanded the surface rust starting with a 320 grit and moving up to a 4000grit. Then a quick polish with some jewelers cloth and some Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish to finish it up. Scales just needed some cleaning and a little tighten on the pins.
At that point in the restore the the pins weren't quite as tight as they should have been so I had the cap there just to be safe. After I took that picture I tightened up the pins so now it will stay open on it's own and not open by itself when you turn it upside down. As soon as I stop being lazy and buy a new camera I'll post a better picture. The scales are celluloid.
It shaves well. I'm not a pro honer as I've only been honing razors for a short time, but I was able to get it to what I consider shave ready with no issues.-We don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing.-
