    Well, bit of a necropost and a bit of fun, but what does swaging the grob mean?

    That's all correct. I was being obtuse!

    Here's what I meant (though the example isn't the best, it's the only one I could find -- this razor needs cleaning, and some of the crud on it obscures what I'm talking about).

    These two pictures are the same razor:





    The grob is the design flourish at the point (toe) end of the spine. If you squint into a headwind you can see that it's been ground flat at the top, the front and both sides to create three facets where Ali's (incredible) razor has just one.

    Hilariously, having written that a long time ago, I now disagree with myself!
    (I don't think Ali's razor should have a that style grob anymore)
