    Hello Martin 103

Thank you for the compliment and the words of truth. I am such a newbie at this that I have no Idea what a good straight razor shave should feel like? That being said I have shaved with two of them, the Damasteel blades, it was the first time I had done this so that too was an interesting and exciting exercise. Its quite awesome doing all the facial prep and then finally pulling a razor you made across your face. To me it felt smoother than if I had used my Gillette MkII.

The other issue is that I dont have the 8K or 12K stones that I assume are needed to make the razor a perfect shaving device?

    All the best

    Chris.

Chris, I believed to be a reputable custom maker you must be a user, and proficient at honing as well. You would definately need the 2 stones you mention and then some......Perhaps sending one of your razor to a honemeister in Europe to see if it will indeed take a good shaving edge, might be a solution to your dilemma.
