    Default Kibitz, Solingen

Picked up this $3.00 blade that I though held promise. Broke it down, had to remove the script since the rust was rather deep, gave it a brushed finish but polished the spine, shaft and the scales.
Put it in the rotation and I'm a happy camper.

Very nice work. I'm starting on two right now. One is an antique Backhause from Solingen. Your motivating me to work faster.

Great job, it is hard for me to believe those are the same scales in the before and after photos.

It's not hard for you to believe it because I neglected to mention I swapped scales. The ones in the before photos came up OK,,, but I liked the look of theses from another razor.
Sorry about that. Didn't want to mislead anyone.
I'll use the old ones on another razor.

I just thought they cleaned up and polished out really good. Thanks.

You bet. But I have had some scales make dramatic changes that have rivaled these so it's not out of the question. Here I just had a senior moment.

I am always amazed with these restorations. I blows my mind seeing how new looking the blades become after sanding and polishing fantastic work!!
