    Default 3rd restro/rescale attempt

    Howdy folks,

So this my my third attempt at resto/scales and I am pretty pleased generally.

Things I feel I did better:
    Setting the pins
Shaping out my general scale design
Hand sanding a better mirror polish

Things I am having trouble with:
Maintaining an even bevel on my scales (any suggestions for doing so by hand? Keeping the lines crisp and keeping the same angle?)
Getting all the scratches out of the darn mirror polish (I think I need to work on my patients when sanding)

The blade is a unknown junk-shop buy with the stamp all but worn down to a "....sons" over an "....or". I went with a higher polish on the blade part and a satin look for everything else.
The wood is again a piece of black locus burl from my pops back yard he ended up having to remove after a wind storm. Just a note, this stuff is kind of toxic... was doing a bit of hand sanding while watching TV and did not use a dusk mask and I started to feel pretty ill... be forewarned.
The finish is Tung Oil Finish (Formby's) that I got at home depot. I applied 2 thing coats, sanded a 600 grit, applied thick coat, buffed by hand, then buffed with Flitz. Seems to shine quite nicely and drys hard.
The wedge is a lighter section of the same burl that i chose so it would have a tad bit of variation in color.

Thanks for looking and questions/suggestions/comments always appreciated.

    Nice work.
As to your scales the same thing applies "I think I need to work on my patients when sanding"
that and practice and don't get in a hurry.
    continue the good work

That's really nice looking work. I'd never know it was your third attempt.
