Well at first I wanted to do that (brass pin with inox washer) tried it on an old plastic scales (mind that i bought my first 2 old razors last Sunday, and managed to shave 2 times with them ) but no metter how I tried i always ended up with bent pin (the one that goes thru the pivot) so sice i like screws more i guess i thought why not try to find/use some (to tell you the truth I had torx rounded nuts in mind). So please do send me the codes, I intend to do some more restorations if i find a nice razor(s).
I'm putting linnen oil finish to the scales (i usually use it on my wooden rings, if someone wants to see some here they are -> Click for gallery ) at the moment and intend to assemble the razor later through the day.Last edited by miha; 04-13-2013 at 01:22 PM.

here it goes, my first restoration, my first straight razor in fact (as said bought it on Sunday), the final product is below, handles are made of doussie wood, wedge of paduk wood, used stainless steel 2 mm (20mm long) screws that i cut off at the end and sanded them with up to grit 2000, had some fuzz with blade centering but managed to center it .. it's not going to look like a lot to you but it is a dear to me ... restoration was done by hand sanding with some minor help of dremel for major handle adjustments
