Thanked: 983Where are they?
What has happened to young Jimbo? He seems to have disappeared. Has he been frightened off by a close shave? Has he managed to shave himself out of existance? Is there anyone else who seems to have disappeared from the face of Oz?

Thanked: 203Hi Mick,
"i'm not dead yet!" {best Monty Python imitation} I'm still around, just quiet. Not a big internet person. Did have young Simon from Ballina up late last year and was to have Mitch up from down Logan way a couple of months ago, but that was postponed as on the day had to rush to hospital with my son. {he is fine}
Despite trying to contact both i have not heard back from either.
Meanwhile i steal a quarter hour here and there in the workshop as my day job and my family life permit.Still making knives and razors. Actually have four razors and five knives all in CPM30V back from heat treating and working on the hand sanding now. Looking forward to completing as i have not finished a new piece in six months. Just not enough "me" time.
i am still renting in Chermside, so if you ever wish to visit, just let me know.
Regards,Respectfully,
Adam.

Thanked: 983Glad to see you're still around Adam. I might have to drop in sometime to check those knives and razors out. I haven't put any time into my own knife making for some time now. I'm looking forward to when I can start up again. Glad to hear you and yours are all well.

Thanked: 1072Yeah, I was wondering about Jimbo myself just the other day. I'm still here, too much if you ask my wife.
Adam, I know the feeling. All my resrorations are done 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there. 4 kids makes it hard to find a good time to combine sharp objects and power tool.

Thanked: 983Mate that Bengall has been turned into a beautiful shaver. One of my three favourites. I'll keep an eye out for any decent Bengalls in my neck of the woods and let you know if I find something that might take your fancy.

Thanked: 203Yeah Grant,
know what you mean. My "me" time is after everyone is in bed and that can be bad if you're tired. Had a reminder a few weeks ago when i ran my thumb onto the point of a razor i was hand sanding. Heat treated but not sharpened it still made a hole. After it kept opening and bleeding at inopportune times for the next two days i resorted to super glue. {usually wear gloves when i glue as i have a habit of sticking fingers together or to the things i glue} great stuff. applied a drop each day for about 5 days and it healed up pretty good. Have had worse incidents in the shop so usually try not to go in too late and tired. Plus i can't make noise when everyone is asleep just upstairs with only a wood floor between.
Ah - the joys that are sent to try us.
On the bright side, the razors i am making now are some of my best work so far {every piece i make is better than the last}
Keep on keeping onRespectfully,
Adam.

Thanked: 983Broke my rule about bothering people over the phone out of the blue, and gave Jimbo a call today. No answer (He was at work no doubt), so I left a message. We'll see if the prodigal son returns.
