Thanked: 485It actually shouldn't matter when the end of the world is, really, philosophically, I think, in my most, humble, opinion. BTW Mick, thanks for the post cards, my correspondence is still sitting on my desk.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Carl,
There were 555 earthquakes in California and Nevada in the past week. But, most all of them are so small or so deep, they aren't felt. I haven't felt one in about thirteen years and it was real small and real quick, just a weird bump.
It seemed like in the Seventies, there was always some jackass calling for the end of the World. There will always be someone convinced that it's coming, I'll believe it when it happens.
Here's a map of earthquakes for the past week, later, well; unless the big one hits!! donv

A mate of mine just had a new arrival to the family so I'm going to a beginning of the world party tomorrow for his new son. We can hold an end of world party next day.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 485Yes, Mick, you're right. Thing is, in this neck of the woods we have a general store (not all that 'general' actually) that doubles as a post office (no deliveries, we have to pick up the mail). For some weird reason they can't operate as a post office on weekends, and I work during the week. Maybe I'll just hop in the car and drive it up to you?

Thanked: 203Stop getting my hopes up. Nothing is gonna change in the downward slide that is our modern civilisation.
My last big hope was Y2K. Had the car loaded with supplies, weapons, family and was well away from the cities..... then a great big nothing....
if it ever does happen it'll be something like "Shaun of The Dead" - you know - stroolling to the shop, going through the routine and not noticing the zombies.... until it's time - Cause them zombies ain't gonna kill themselves!
Guess i'm in for another xmas....Bah... Humbug.
