And we have some great characters here in SRP that are just so entertaining when telling a story
It makes it a pleasure to drop by for a reality check/dose of sanity

It's a hobby - plain and simple. I don't need more razors or hones, but I keep trying new stuff anyway. The shaves don't change. but the variety is cool.

Anyway, I live in NH and in the winter there ain't a whole lot to do.

This place is like the Hotel California for me. I checked in and am not leaving until the curtains close.

It's a little thing, but I'm still amazed after I hone a 20$ razor off eBay and I'm able to shave with it. More amazed if I don't scrap myself with it!
Reading the topics here give me just enough insight to be able to almost know what I'm doing.
I tend to reject the technical and the site give me enough of the practical to keep learning.
    I enjoy it.

it is fun to be here, i can read here while listening to boring meetings, and SWMBO likes stupid tv programs and whines if i spend all my time actually working on razors or sharp things in general, so i can sit on the couch with a laptop let her watch her shows and i get to participate in the forum with one hand or so and rub her feet with the other... a win-win in my book.

when the forums get a little whiny, or i get a little whiny i take a month or two off and the tone usually has quieted. most other forum and websites i'm a member of do not display the camaraderie often found here.

    enjoy,
    jim

I can't watch porn in front of my wife, she doesn't like it, so I look at razors instead

You should tell her that internet porn is free and will just make you horny for her; while also free, watching razors on the internet will make you horny for more razors, thus spending money you could spend on her instead...

    Cheers.

Being in my forties, I have reached that age where hobbies tend to be too large a part of every day life...
It's not about Razor or stone porn much anymore, no, it's more about enjoyment of having gotten decent at it, and a wish to share in this knowledge with others like me.
Another enjoyable thing with this site, for me, is to be able to help out with what little I have learned to those starting out.
All mooshy, I know, but that's how it is!

And of course, I have made some friends on here over the years, some of them I have even met up with over this hobby.
So, plenty of reasons still for me to hang out around here

i read the definitive hanging hair test just the other day had something to do with a 30m platform and a university student hanging by the hair off the edge and curmudgeon testing the edge of a razor one hair at a time.
