I forgot to include my other project. This was the first new car I bought. She is still going under a little modification.

502 with a Dyers 8-71 blower. She makes 817 h/p and 791 ft/lbs torque. Just a little more than the 305 she came with. Now it is 30 years old, I guess it considered a old ride.

Of course both will have one of these prominently displayed on the back window

If I can come across an old barn find - '73 Norton Commando with the SS pipes. The only dilemma I have is whether or not I should replace the forks and front end with something a little easier. It shouldn't be a hard modification to place put the front end of a '06, '07 CBR 600RR into that Norton frame. .

Painted with Kandy Brandy Wine - black undercoat. gold lettering...

I like the look of the high set SS pipes..

Or - perhaps a '65 featherbed frame with a Triumph motor.. the ever-elusive Triton..

I know I'm gonna have to re-gear the rear end in the GTO. I set her up for cruising and draggin back in the day so she has a lot of ass and torque on the low end, but winds out really quickly. I'm at about 3200 RPM at 60 MPH on the highway in 4th gear. I'm at about 5500 RPM at 90 MPH (redline) which is about all an old Pontiac motor can take (any motor from back then really). I could replace the tranny with a modern Tremec 6 speed overdrive (blasphemy) but I love the old "Rockcrusher". So if I re-gear the end to about 3.08, I should be close to 2300 RPM at 60-70. Heather (the 69'Camaro) has a 6 speed and she can cruise effortlessly at about 1800 RPM doing 70. Thats a lot less work for the engine.

After 30-years of thinking about it I decided to become my own wrench and bought a semi-beat 1987 911 Carrera (good engine and tranny - no rust) two and a half years ago; gradually worked my way through almost every broken, bent and short-circuited thingie. I'm down to central door locking system and cruise control. New paint want on last March. With help from friends and PCA members I can handle just about everything but, right now, it's just tune-ups and and the odd lightbulb that needs attention. It's running great! Looking forward to an engine rebuild in another, uh... 150,000 - 200,000 miles. Daily driver - 15k/year. As it stands, the value has increased above the the improvements so, with a little luck, it'll continue to be worth at least what I have in it.

Next project is my wife's grandfathers 1950 F-1 (Mustand 289 under the hood mated to the original 3-speed floor shifter). I have assembled all the major parts I need over the last 10-years. Restoration starts when it cools off outside.

For you, cahnwulf: I sold this one a long time ago - arrived as a basket case with a serious cam and HC heads/pistons - musta been someones racer; terrible tendency to leap out from under me once I got it back to running trim. Also underperforming front end and brakes matched to an overperforming engine. It sprained my ankle backfiring on a kick-start, once; had to start it cross-legged for months. My neighbor called it the "Notrun". Love-hate relationship. The BSA was love only, seen in background while still all black.

I have since copped out through three GoldWings and, currently, a BMW R1200R with bags/shield.

She's gorgeous - hopefully she went to a good home. I think it only takes one incident of a kick-starter recoil before we learn our lesson... I know I did! Was the BSA a resto as well?
