Thanked: 68The modern carbide lights put out a different kind of light to the old ones.
Sadly mostly overtaken by LEDs for caving. Light lasts longer, doesn't go out in the wet and easier to carry replacement set of batteries rather than more carbide...
But carbide is fun on occasion and and you can't beat it for light + heating! (or even cooking if you're desperate )
These things are great for general light round camp or at home when the power goes out.
Glow-in-the-dark cap means you can always find it in the room or tent.
Battery life is amazing, very lightweight and simple design - all you need is a 9V battery.
One for work, by the bed, in my "go-bag", the wife and the kids all have them too.
Pak-Lite in many different configurations.Last edited by nzFuzzy; 08-06-2013 at 11:41 PM.
Don't do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the paramedics!
