Flashlights
Any of you out there flashlight guru's... or aficionados?
Show em to me!
I think I might have stumbled onto a new "thing" here!First off, you might be wondering why I am posting about flashlights in the "The Finer Things in Life" forum. Well I guess the answer to that is... because I just ordered a flashlight that cost more than my lawnmower
!!!
Ever since I have had my current dog, I have had to own a spotlight of some type or another. Yeah he's a skittish bugger who is prone to running when freaked. And gents... this dog can run. Being we were living in the "country" when we got him, a lack of fences was an issue, and I couldn't put a choker on him due to a neck issue he had sustained.
(the mutt)
Good thing is he's big, and he's white! Because at night, with a spotlight, one could spot him at a distance (except in winter).
Anyway - I have been buying useless spotlights or "throwers" for the longest time! Home Depot rechargeable things that work ok for a while, but then just seem to die. It's as though they are designed to break! A couple of days ago the rain took my last spotlight.
(the latest victim)
So I vowed I would spend some money and buy a half decent thrower. The criteria: it had to be tough, waterproof, and run on replaceable batteries... and of course throw a beam of light a good distance. Off to the flashlight forums to have a look I went.
Man - you think we are crazy here on the shaving forums!! These guys are certifiable lol!! But I got sucked in and just ordered myself a (fingers crossed) great one!
(the chosen one)
Sweet!! Here is the co's link and a link to a review if you are interested.

Thinking of getting something more pocket friendly like the Sunwayman M11R, and I really like the Ti version.
Funny you should mention the flashlight forums... I spent more then a few hours browsing and youtubing flashlights yesterday...
Some people have full collections of limited edition Ti body flashlights...I must admit they looked really cool.Last edited by mainaman; 08-06-2013 at 01:14 AM.

That thing looks great!! A bit too fat for me. My kids need to be able to handle it... but other than that! I love that it uses regular everyday AA battery's!! That is a huge draw.
Good reviews too!! Nice!

Lots of different kinds of crazy be it flashlights or razors.
I have always loved flashlights and today's sure beat the ones i grew up with.
My favorite flashlight story was when I gave everyone in my family a rechargeable flashlight for Christmas. Big bulky newfangled things. Christmas eve my brother came in from the barn saying one cow went nuts and the rest of them followed her through the fence. I took the opportunity to tell everyone to open their presents a little early! I could type two more pages with the rest of the story.
Here are my latest.
Stinger® Series - Stinger® Classic LED | Streamlight
My only complaint is I can't leave it plugged into my truck charger 24/7 because I keep getting low battery alerts on the truck. A friend that works for the county on squad cars has to keep telling the deputies the same thing.
My wife wanted one until she heard the price so I tried a compromise and got her one of these.

I thought the USB charger was neat but haven't had it long enough to see if it holds up.

Don't need no fancy flashlight. When the pigs go oink, oink, oink I leave that part of the lake & fish elsewhere.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
