It gives me goosebumps each and every time and wakes up some of my deepest emotions, it's that good.

Agreed. It's unfortunate he had to be in the shape he was to make that magic, but I suppose he saw that and realized how much it would lend to the song.

I love this song, while you won’t actually ‘see’ Johnny playing or performing, you will see someone with a great talent creating Johnny for you to 'see' while you listen.

I find it very well done!

Johnny Cash is good... While I like the rest of his stuff I've always liked Boy Named Sue just because it makes me laugh.

I have always been a Cash fan since I was little (I am 51). When I picked up the guitar and taught myself how to play I rediscovered JC, and found out I could play and sing his tunes. When I met my wife-to-be I would play her those tunes, and her daughter who was 3 at the time, had to suffer along. (They are Quebecoise sp?, and the little one didn't even understand English at the time) Of course then JC made a resurgence, I bought all his new albums, and would play them often around the house. The little one once grabbed my black hat and put it on and said "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash", at the age of four. Major cuteness.
This year that young lady is attending her first year of college and has decorated her dorm with a few posters, including the iconic JC poster.
Brought a tear to my eye.
(BTW, the others are Dylan, Elvis and Buddha) Great kid.

Just as Johnny Cash did when he ‘reinterpreted’ Nine Inch Nail’s ‘Hurt’ here’s what he did with Bob Dylan’s song made famous by Peter Paul and Mary all those many years ago.

He made it ‘His Song’ and a with a message deeper than ever thought of!
