Some nice NC moon last night. Thinking of my mutt I told my wife, "You have your full moon, half moon, quarter moon, crescent moon, waning, waxing, gibbous, harvest and blue... But what about a moon for all the dogs that howl at the moon? Why is there no Dog Moon?"

And she said, "EVERY moon is a Dog Moon!"

There are a lot of great things here if you are into the outdoors. Hunting and fishing, clam digging, dungeness crab, prawns, hiking, photography. The down side is everything costs a little bit extra, mail service is slow, and the ferry to the mainland is quite unreliable in the winter. My trip to the mainland is going to be delayed more than 24 hrs. All part of the price we pay for living in paradise!

That wouldn't break my heart at all. I think that everyone would be shocked at the travel costs though. If you want to come and hang out I'm always up for company. You may never want to leave though. A lot of people come for a holiday and then can't stay away. My father came here for a two year posting when I was a kid, he never left, and I'm still here too!

    remember this?.....

    Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
    Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away

But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night

Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
    On this harvest moon

    When we were strangers
    I watched you from afar
    Then when we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart

    But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
    I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye

Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
    On this harvest moon

Because I'm still in love with you
I wanna see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
    On this harvest moon
