On this harvest moon
A buddy reminded me that the harvest moon is tonight. I plan on doing a hike and finding a good vantage of the moonrise this evening. And yes, I will be humming my favorite Neil Young song as the moon rises!
Enjoy your viewing, gentlemen

Thanked: 4826we have a massive south east system moving in rapidly and super big tides. We will not have a view of the moon tonight but we may have winds near 100 km/h and waves over 6m. Its just the start of our winter weather so it shouldn't get too crazy.

I hope you are on the leeward side, Rezdog.
Hopefully I will be able to get a decent pic to post. Well, decent for a phone camera.

Went out to a nature trail and walked a couple of laps. The moon was obscured by clouds at first, but it did come out. I alternated between fishing and watching the moon. The pictures did not turn out well so I will just post one to document the occasion.

One Largemouth Bass. It was small, somewhere around 10 inches in length. This pond is overfished so that fish and the several I missed were a treat.

Thanked: 1184I think your lucky. I never had much luck on a full moon for bass. 3 days before and 3 days after they seem to jump on the boat. I have found on over fished lakes you have to show em something they never seen before. Around here they have so many holes in the mouth from being caught it makes it hard to keep the hook in em. I have got bass with 5 dollar lures hanging on them still. Too many people not enough water. You got a cherry spot.

Thanked: 1184I would have fished in another state. I was licensed in 5 different states once upon a time.

You can't even call it fishing where you are. It's called catching. I actually hate fishing. But the days spent catching make me keep at it.Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
